Hi People! This is my last post using blogger because I've got everything moved over to another hosting plan and am using wordpress, so if you were using a feed off this site, you will have to update it to www.deepbrew.com/feed . Thanks. My address will still be deepbrew.com.

Do y'all do Bloglines?

Bloglines.com is this really neat site where you can conglomerate ALL the blogs you read in one convenient location. All you do is go to bloglines.com. and complete the easy sign up process. Next you add the feed of the blog you want to keep up with, like this:

As you can see it's very easy to add a feed--you just type in the name of the blog, for example, if you think Hans Mast is cool, you would just type "www.hansmast.com" in the top box and click "subscribe," and VOILA, you now have hansmast's top quality fodder delivered to your bloglines site whenver he updates. You can even add Xanga users. Really Cool.

Wow, blogger.com has been incredibly slow and awful lately. I apologize to all of you faithful readers who have been in the depths of despair over the low-availability of my blog. I am nearly ready to move it over to Wordpress. Big changes coming soon.

Doodles During Phone Conversation with Jordan

Tuesday, January 24, 2006

Allen Roth is here this week teaching a Church Planting and Growth class. The class is very challenging in that I am again thinking that I need to be much more active in spreading the gospel, and I regret that I haven't made it more of a priority. I know that bringing Christ to the world is our most important calling, and I've thought this and said it before, but somehow actually doing it is much more difficult for me. It feels somewhat urgent for me now to "use it or lose it."

Tomorrow Shall Be...

My Dancing Day... I have always loved that song but never really knew what it said until I got this sudden notion to look up the lyrics on the web this evening. Wow, what an amazing piece. Jesus is calling his true love (must be the church) to his dance. Here's the second verse:
2. Then was I born of a virgin pure,
Of her I took fleshly substance
Thus was I knit to man's nature
To call my true love to my dance
.
That second "fleshly substance" line caught my attention cuz we're studying our illustrious forefather Menno Simons and learning that he didn't get everything right either. He would have disagreed with that line cuz he thought Jesus did not get his human flesh from Mary, but that it came straight from God. This is known as his "celestial flesh" view. Wonderful stuff, to think that our namesake was guilty of such a heresy. Oh well, at least he was human.

Latex Gloves Anyone?

Here's a nice little jewel from Slashdot
A test carried out by Pegasus Lab on account for Swedish magazine PC För alla showed that a normal PC keyboard was infected by more bacteria than a normal toilet seat. More specific it contained 33000 bacteria per square centimeter, compared to 130 on a ordinary toilet seat. The tests also showed occurrence of up to 3100 fungi per square centimeter
Gotta love that! And here I thought my job as a PC technician was pretty sanitary.

I'm at Faith Builders

for those of you whom I haven't kept up with. I've been here about a week and will be here for four more. I just got back from a crazy weekend in Lancaster and am trying to get my head above water--anabaptist theology is proving to be a killer. Tata
